Lodato Park

Anyone who loves the outdoors will appreciate Lodato Park. Tucked away behind a business complex, this hidden gem features a short 1.5-mile loop trail through the woods. Banana slugs and redwood trees can be seen, and it offers some great views as the trail increases in elevation. It’s a great spot to walk your dog, take a quick natural retreat from the stresses of work, and get a fantastic view of the valley from above.

Glenwood Open Space Preserve

This 166-acre natural preserve features the grasslands, riparian forests, and wetlands of Scotts Valley. While the preserve at large is still under development (bridges and trails are still being established in some areas), Scotts Valley residents can enjoy the expansive westside Glenwood Preserve Trails. They’ve already proved to be popular among mountain bikers, hikers, and the Scotts Valley High School cross country team.
